The MVD brings together the essential capabilities to launch a federated data space in a secure and scalable way.

What is the MVD?

The MVD is the first operational version of the Data Space that brings together the minimum set of capabilities needed to launch the federation: identity and access, data discovery, basic governance, traceability, and connectivity.

It serves to learn quickly, measure impact, and adjust the design before scaling up.

What does this phase include?

  • Federated identity and access management (IAM): authentication and authorization based on policies and roles.
  • Agreements and governance: Data Sharing Agreement templates and usage policies.
  • EDC connectors for integration and sandbox environment.
  • Observability: access logging, auditing, and consent traceability.
  • Support for pilot use cases, on demand.
